We are two friends, Kristína (kika) and Ivana (iva), so we would like to start with an explanation why we are "kiva". The beginnings of our desire to do our own project go back to university. We had some ideas which unfortunately didn't work out and so we both went our own way. We met again in 2019. Talking about our travel experiences at home and abroad, we agreed that we still had only a few interesting and adventurous accommodation options in Slovakia, and so kiva cabins was born. After some philosophical discussions and a few (inaccurate and very underestimated calculations) we confirmed that we were in.
We started by looking for a suitable location, which we found two years later. It's a beautiful eco complex in small village Horné Hámre. Until we launched kiva we’ve been through a lot, from attending building fairs, weekend shopping trips to builders' merchants, hundreds of miles travelled, and chasing tractor drivers through the field to help us move our cabin. We've learned a lot, but the best things come with you, our customers. We are so proud of our project and we hope it excites you too!
